1. Local-First Storage Architecture

Unlike conventional software-as-a-service (SaaS) habit trackers that transmit your habits, completion timestamps, and personal journal notes to centralized cloud servers, FreeHabitTracking operates on a 100% local-first paradigm.

When you check off a habit, draft a note in the evening reflection journal, or change your theme preference, that information is written directly to your browser's sandboxed localStorage. We do not operate a remote database, we do not require account registration, and our web servers have zero technical capability to inspect, store, or sell your records.

2. Zero Cookies, Zero Analytics, Zero Trackers

We believe personal consistency tools should be tranquil sanctuaries free from corporate surveillance. Here is our unequivocal commitment:

✓ No Tracking Cookies

We do not set any tracking, profiling, or cross-site advertising cookies. Ever.

✓ No Google Analytics or Pixels

No third-party behavioral scripts, Facebook Pixels, or telemetry beacons exist on our pages.

✓ No User Fingerprinting

We do not construct digital canvas fingerprints, screen resolution hashes, or IP profiles.

✓ No Account Logins

No email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords are ever solicited or maintained.

3. Technical Assets & Offline PWA

To maintain an aesthetic, ultra-fast experience, the application interfaces with a minimal set of standard web infrastructure:

  • Web Typography (Google Fonts): Clean typography (Geist, Inter, Plus Jakarta Sans, Playfair Display) is linked via standard font stylesheets. After the first load, fonts are cached by your browser for offline use.
  • Progressive Web App (Service Worker): When installed on your iPhone, Android, Mac, or PC, a client-side Service Worker caches HTML, CSS, and JavaScript assets so the app functions 100% offline without requiring an active internet connection.
  • Static Hosting CDN: Our static application files are delivered over encrypted HTTPS through standard content delivery networks (Cloudflare/Vercel/GitHub Pages), which process standard technical HTTP request headers strictly for network routing and DDoS prevention.

4. GDPR, CCPA & Global Privacy Rights

Global privacy frameworks like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) govern the collection, processing, and transfer of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Because FreeHabitTracking collects zero personal data and possesses no central data repository, our compliance is absolute by design:

  • Right of Access & Portability: You can export 100% of your habits and logs at any moment in open formats (.xlsx, Notion, CSV, Markdown, PDF).
  • Right to Erasure (Be Forgotten): Click "Purge All Local Data" above or clear your browser cache to permanently eliminate every trace of your data.
  • No Sale of Personal Data: We have never sold, monetized, rented, or shared user records, and our zero-database architecture renders data sales technically impossible.
  • COPPA (Children's Privacy): Because no personal information is solicited or collected, the service is completely safe for students and young learners.
